Hey

Ummm.

Hey guys, I see Lily went ahead and hacked in to tell you what was up.

There was the cliff and Alex, like the idiot he is, slipped over it. I grabbed his hand and was mostly holding him up. But then the log I was bracing my foot against slipped and we both went over.

Luckily, the cliff was a pretty small cliff.

Unluckily, there was a steep hill at the top.
And we rolled a good deal before we finally stopped.

And I sprained my ankle on the way down and so when I went to get up at the bottom of the hill, I blacked out from the unexpected pain.

Anyway, I guess Alex doesn't have a lot of experience in wilderness survival, because he just sat there. Probably would have been better to wake me back up somehow or if he tried and couldn't get me up, then he should have hiked back up to the cliff and gotten the attention of the group.

But he didn't.

By the time I came around, it was getting dark.

The hill would have been hard and I couldn't have got up the cliff at the end if I wanted to so we decided to start moving in the other direction,

Thanks to all Dad's training, I'd remembered to look at the maps before we came.

(We were supposed to be left, but we thought it was another one of Mr. Solomon's end of the year tests, so we thought that we were supposed to find our way back.)

So, more or less, I made a wrap for my foot, grabbed a stick and we started hoofing it toward diagonally across the woods toward the nearest town.

We traveled until it was too dark to see, made a little shelter off to one side )By made, I mean Alex carried sticks and I pointed. Ok, not really. He found material and I wove it into a small lean to.) and slept.

Got up, found food and water. Filled out canteens.  Moved out again.

We made it up onto the road and started walking  for the  town

Once we we're up on the road, walking was a little easier because the ground was flat. I also took a pain killer from my mini first aid kit and Alex was lending a hand. At first I didn't want to accept any help, but my foot,,,,ow.

We made it into town in the late afternoon and cleaned ourselves up a little bit. (We didn't want to attract too much attention to ourselves and therefore our schools)

Dad is always telling my brother and me that we need to make sure we carry money in our survival kits and I made a mini survival kit that I can keep in my pocket which, luckily had enough money to buy us lunch and rent one room in the local motel.

We hung around the dinner for the evening, eating our sandwich and drinking coffee. (They had free coffee refills)

Then we went by the motel and ummmm....we're too fairly young people.....getting ONE room.  (it was either two rooms and no food, or food and one room)

Luckily, we both look pretty mature, so we told the lady at the desk that we were married. (I know. The married couple is SO cliche, but we din't have a lot of time to think of another cover story ok?)

Anyway, the lady must have been pretty bored, because instead of just giving us a key and letting us go, she  started walking us to our room.

And I was pretending that my foot was fine, which is physically and mentally exhausting....and it HURTS.

I must have winced or something because Alex turned and tried to ask me if I was ok.
I said my foot hurt and I was just going to lean on his shoulder (that's something couples do, right?) but Alex just turned and picked me up, bridal style and started walking faster to catch up with the lady.

So we walked past her, opened the door, and went in. The Alex set me down and latched the door and...well, my foot was in a lot of pain and it was kind of swollen and he kind of set me down really fast....well.....I passed out from the pain.

I said I was fine, and asked him was time it was. Only a couple minutes had passed, which was good. I sat up (which hurt) and looked around the room for a phone. Alex saw me look and asked what I was looking for.
He said he'd already looked. There was no room phone, but there was a phone down in the lobby.

So then Alex took one of the spare blankets and half the pillows, made a bed on the couch (a couch, but not phone?) and we went to sleep.

We woke up, I called Gallagher and we ate our complimentary breakfast. By the time we were done...Joe Solomon and Grant were there and we went home.

Then they bundled me up to the nurse who set my foot,(turns out, it was broken.) and told me to stay in bed the next couple days. (I was also a little dehydrated and I hadn't eaten well the last couple days...)

Anyway, so I was in bed for a couple days.
I started to get up and about with the use of crutches to go to class.
I had to sit out P&E :(  but I started back into everything else, getting ready for finals.

Because of my broken foot, I wasn't allowed to go to the end of year ball. Mr. Solomon said something like I'd already proved myself with covers and blah blah blah.

(Alex got to go.)

Anyway, he showed up in the hospital room all the time to talk to me while I was in there and we were friends again after.

And guess what.

When they left.....

I had a boyfriend.

Here's what I've Learned:

  • The exercise was planned by Blackthorne Boys, with the permission of Joe Solomon. They wanted to practice their kidnapping skills, basically plus how to interrogate people based of what you know about them.
  • It was only the Sophomores.
  • The boys planned most of it and decided to have it on Valentine's despite Joe and Grants suggestions to move it to a different day
  • Still not talking to Alex, who seems to have recovered from his back pain from being flipped into a wall. He keeps trying to talk to me. But guess what? I don't care anymore!
  • Four Sophomores Blackthorne boys were hospitalized with minor injures from P&E, and two from the Freshman year class.
  • All the girls seem pretty mad and some of the older boys glare at the sophomores every once and awhile. '

That aside, it was still an ok training session. It was pretty realistic, though it's normally longer. There was all the mental interrogation. It was kind of interesting.

You know, now that I know that it wasn't a group trying to kidnap us, and learn the secrets of our sisterhood!

(Still mad at Alex)

Too Mad To Think Of A Clever Title

Ok:

  • My hand hurts (The whole dislocation thing...)
  • It was only the Sophomores (But every single girl at the school is pretty mad)
  • I'm still mad at Alex (and basically every male in the building)
  • The guy I bit was a Blackthorne Alumni.
  • My split lip was from the fight. It was split open again during interrogation because one of the guys hit me. Granted, I provoked him (I said something that wasn't very nice in Farsi) He is actually the only person I'm not extremely mad at. He showed up afterwards and looked so said, and brought me a box of chocolates. (I'm not saying I can be bribed with chocolate...but yeah.) He said we all did a really good job.
  • The way I wrote about it made it sound very unprofessional. I took out large gaps. Like the beginning. In the whole reading thing, there was all the try and be your friend etc. The way I wrote it make it look very sloppy.
  • Chef Louis totally made us all special cakes. He was also outraged that they would do this to us! And on Valentine's Day! We tried to explain it was still a pretty good plan, because we were all relaxed and everything. It was funny trying to calm him down while we were all made too. Anyway, we got lots of cake.
  • Most of the girls have recovered and are looking forward to venting at P&E on Blackthorne Boys.

ALSO:
On a happier note: I will be posting my "About Me" Post next week.
To make it fun, my roommates will also be doing a guest post sometime this week or next. So, my roommates will also be answering a "About Me" Post. I think I'll just have them both answer the questions on my "About Me." Maybe in a different text color....I saw a blog do that earlier,

When you email in my questions, let me know which one you would prefer. Should Jess and Lily get their own "About Me" post this week or no?

Juicy Gossip

Now, to fill you in on all the juicy gossip at Gallagher Academy.

SOOO:

I was talking to Cammie, who is always down to talk to a Gallagher student. So we were walking and we saw Mr. Solomon, Grant, Jonas (The two Blackthorne Alumni who brought the boys) and Zack sitting together. Just then Alec (be still mine heart) walked by and Grant called him over. I heard Cammie comment to Liz (who we were talking to) "It looks like the 'I Had A Crush On A Gallagher Girl' Club"

And I thought she was talking about me and Alec, but then I saw Liz's face. She was blushing really REALLY hard. Then I remembered something from the books. How Liz and some guy (I think it was Jonas....Sorry. It's been awhile) liked each other.

Might I just say "Oh My Bloody Gosh"

Liz has a crush on Jonas?! Jonas had a crush on her? Shall old flames be rekindled? Ah!

While were on the topic of Gallagher/Blackthorne couples....

Tansy and Lance are SOOO cute together. I don't spend a lot of time with seniors, but obviously I see them at meal times and such. Plus I have advanced blade class with Tansy's group. I already knew the blade basics when I came, thanks to Mom.

Also, I ride to the airport with them. I'm trying to get my pilot's licence, so when the seniors go to practice jumping out of airplanes and stuff, I ride along.

Seniors spend the most time skydiving (They have to practice landing. That is the tricky part) and last time they went up, they had room for one more person in the plane (One of the girls was sick)

So I got to watch Tansy and Lance skydive together. They are so bloody cute. On the way up, Lance said "I've never kissed anyone when skydiving" and Tansy said "LETS!"

Since they jumped out before me, I had to (got to) watch them kiss....while flying through the air.

They are so cute.

What Happened Next

So I told them all my story, and they were all so happy.
One of them sighed and said "I wish I could have been there"

Then Alice sat up suddenly and yelped "The security cameras!" Then she wheeled her wheelchair quick as light, and raced off down the hall. The rest of the girls raced after her leaving just me and the boys.

But wait.

I just keeps getting better. They found the library feed.

So now there are three videos.

Video One: Me throwing book at Alec's head.

Video Two: Me stabbing Peter with a steak knife

Video Thee: All of us attacking yet another  Blackthorne boy.

The note at the end? Gallagher Girls 3; Blackthorne Boys 0

And they showed this video at the end of our grand James Bond Movie Marathon. There were a lot of Blackthorne Boys present. They didn't look happy.

Oh. This is going to be LOTS of fun.

Katherine Edgeworth, Reporting for Boy Duty

"The List" as it came to be called, was posted in the Dinning Hall.

Almost the entire school was gathered around those five little pieces of paper.

Now even if a boy and girl really hit it off that first evening when (most of us) first met them, they still didn't know id they were going to be paired up. Boys could ask, but mostly Headmistress Morgan and the Blackthorne Boys Alumni who had come with them decided. I think they paired them (us) up by interest.

Lily and Jess, who were wearing way to much makeup for the first day of school pushed into the crowd.
"Let me know who I got" I called to them as I made my way to the food. I smiled to Gracie, and Emma as we walked through the buffet line.

"Just us and the food!" Gracie laughed

Emma snorted "Boys, who needs them! I don't think they're even up!"

I grabbed waffles (I LOVE waffles) and piled it to the top with whip cream and strawberries and grabbed a glass of juice.

The twins, plopped down beside me on either side. I always mix them up, but I think Ashley was on the left and Emily was on the right....

"I got Luke" the one of the right smirked

"I don't see why YOUR smiling, Ashley!" the one on the left said (must have been Emily) " I got Hunter!"

"Did you see mine?" I asked through a strawberry filled mouthful.

"Yes. Lucky! You got Alex!"

Goodie.

(PS Lily got a chap named Pitt and Jess got David. Naturally)

Got to go start class now. Wish me luck!

My Punishment

So I bet your wondering what my punishment would be.

Well, Headmistress Morgan assigned me to "Boy Duty"
So guess what.
When all the boys show up, tradition is, they pick a guide. The first time they came, they just chose any girl they wanted from their grade. Well. Headmistress Morgan has some rules about that now. Basically, the boys can choose from a list of girls who sigh up for the position. We don't have many more girls (in the Sophomore grade) then we do visiting Sophomore boys. Which means one or two girls can decline. Anyway, as my punishment, I have to sign up.
Goodie. I was one of the girls who was going to sit this thing out. Wheee.
You may be thinking, well, maybe the boys will pick some one else....after the whole knife throwing incident.
No such luck.
There are 15 visiting Sophomores.
The first 15 girls who sign up get a slot.
So.... I'm stuck.
At least it won't be Peter.

Oh, if you're worried about Peter (AKA Annoying-Boy) he's totally fine. I wouldn't KILL a guest! Honestly, what kind of person do you think I am?
He had a book. (I think it was a fourth edition of Hacking in the Himalayas...) He stuck it in a breast pocket of his jacket. I know right? How even has a breast pocket in their zip up hoodie? I though that was only a suit coat thing....
Anyway, the knife barely went through the book to his skin. He had a tiny poke. Just hold your finger over it for a minute and you'll be fine!
It did look a little creepy. You should have seen all the boys with their eyes bugging out of their heads.
That's right! You don't mess with a Gallagher Girl!

Impaled A Dinner Guest

So I walked into the dinning hall. (sounds like the beginning of a bad joke)  I'm used to it being empty. It's nice. I can eat whatever way and want and everything.

Anyway, have I ever mentioned I have REALLY good hearing? Seriously.

I noticed "Alec" (if that even was his real name. I still don't trust him) wasn't starring daggers or anything. So he didn't hold a grudge. That's good. I saw another boy lean over and whisper.
"Check out those legs."

I assume I wasn't supposed to hear...but still.

So, I tucked into a somersault roll thingy, and popped up by the near by table.

"Well, aren't you a drama queen." you might be thinking but

A. You have NO idea

B. Even though the table was, like, 5 steps away, they would see me going for a knife, etc.
Plus the roll is faster, and it doesn't register right away that I was going for a knife.

Anyway, I stood up and threw the knife in one fluid motion. I saw Alec's eyes going really wide as he and the boy on the other side of Annoying Boy ducked behind the table. But Annoying-Boy was still looking around him, waiting for a laugh. A returning joke or insult. Not a angry knife throwing girl.

He took a knife through the shoulder. The boy on the far side of Alec jumped up and run to help. Annoying Boy stared at his shoulder.

And I?

I calmly sat down and began eating my supper.

Hey! I cooked this tuna casserole and I'm going to enjoy it.

I am expecting someone will come and talk to me. I am in the library right now. I finished dinner fast. Not because I'm worried. (More like annoyed). I just always eat fast. Life is too short to spend it all at the table.

So yes. I went to dinner, impaled a guest, calmly ate my dinner and went to work on my blog. I'm thinking of changing the background.

In Case of Cute Boy, Throw Book

Yesterday, I heard Cammie, Abby and Rachael talking. All I heard were bits and pieces.
Nobody being here....
....No sense in keeping them cooped up...
...Might as well...
... she wont tell anyone

I just went back to my book.
The next day, I was hiding in the library, reading, when a boy walked in.
He was tall. Not too tall. A little taller then me maybe, with blondish brown hair that was cut kind of short. Not military short, just short enough that it stuck up a little.
He was very cute.  Our eyes met.

I did what any self respecting girl would do. I flung my book at his face. He dodged neatly.
Luckily it distracted him, and that's all I was hopping for (Though I would have liked to see the heavy volume of "SpyCraft" splat into his face)

I had surprise on my side and I quickly swept his legs out from under him and pinned  him to the floor.
Just then Cammie and Zack came in.
Cammie saw us and sighed. "I was hoping to get to you first" she sighed.
"He's an exchange student."
Then I understood. "From Blackthorne" I stood up and glared down at him. Then I sighed looked away and held out my hand to help him up.
He said "I'm Alex" and held out his hand
I gave him a look like, Seriously?
"Kat" Cammie said in a warning tone
"Cat?" He laughed. "Like C-A-T?"
"No. Kat like Katherine. With a K. " But I shook his hand, because that's what I was trained to do. Even with Madame D out for the break, I still expected her to pop out of the woodwork and ask me I wasn't being a lady.
Then I  gave a polite smile that would have fooled anyone, except for the fact that they had all seen me glaring daggers a few seconds ago, grabbed my book and left.

well that went well.
